We gathered about thirty folks in the long back room at Desperados, lots of lively conversations ensued. Guiso de Res and Michael Grant Margaritas were served as Jake welcomed everyone to Desperados Guiso de Res Night.

Jake then introduced Bill Lacey, a Michael Grant Superfan, (sitting at the Author's table) and world renown architect who recently moved back to Dallas with his wife Linda--to be closer to family. From his previous time in Dallas Bill came to Desperados to rekindle old memories of great food and good times. Sitting in the first booth he noticed the plaque.

Bill explained how he read the plaque and being a ravenous reader, decided to give the Michael Grant mysteries at try. And in short time he had read all my books, and encourgages me to write faster! (grin) Oh, and he also tried the Michael Grant Margarita... and is hooked on it too. Accompanied by his wife Linda, Bill (sitting on right) introduced me.

I gave a brief welcome to our Guiso de Res Night guests and recognized Jim and Grace Evans, sitting on my left. Jim was my first Superfan. He read my first three novels when they were still in manuscript form and encouraged me to have them published. He has been the first, if not one of the first, to buy each subsequent book. Like Bill, that's 32 to date.

NOTE: I have another Superfan, Alan Steacy who lives in Massachusetts and is my dedicated 1st Reader... he has also read all 32 books. Thank you Alan, wish you could. have been here.

I gave some brief opening remarks and sat down.

After giving everyone time to get through most of their meal, I stood and began reading the first of two short scenes from book #32: The Bird & The Ring.

When I finished I got a lively round of applause... which was followed by an extended session of Q&A.

Then signed copies of The Bird & The Ring were handed out and folks cued-up to have their book personalized, which included a bookmark and a free Michael Grant Margarita gift card from Jake.

These three ladies are inclining their heads to read the tittles on the spine of my books, all 32 lined up.

I'm signing a copy of The Bird & The Ring for Noni Barrett wife of my good friend Benny Barrett.

Professional photographer he is, Ian insisted on moving the table on which my book were standing side by side and wanted me to stand behind them... This is your Author doing as he's told.

I had a great time, reading, answering your questions, personally signing your books and chatting with you all. I hope we can do this again.

If you enjoyed yourself, please let Jake know. And I hope you enjoy reading more of the Michael Grant Mysteries... and enjoy more Michael Grant Margaritas.

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU IAN FOR SHARING YOUR IMAGES!
